The DC-R20 uses a powerful CREE XP-L LED and a specially designed deep aluminum reflector to maximize throw distance, able to reach up to 174 meters away. The flashlight even features a special Strobe Mode for tactical use to either signal someone or disorient a target.

Practical Design

The DC-R20 is designed to not only be powerful, but practical as well. For convenience, the flashlight a Micro USB charging port that can be used with the included cable to internally recharge the flashlight with the 18650 battery inside, so there is no need to purchase a specialized battery charger. While the DC-R20 is designed to use one 18650 battery, it is also able to function using 2 of the more common CR123A batteries, actually delivering even greater output. The easy-to-use side switch not only provides a simple means to switch between output settings, but doubles as a power indicator, producing a slow flash when the battery dips below 50% charge and then a quick flash when below 10%. The DC-R20 even has tail stand ability and comes with a removable attachment ring that can be connected for more convenient carry.

While its power and features are impressive, the DC-R20's design is as much about endurance as it is about performance. The DC-R20 is constructed from a lightweight but sturdy aircraft-grade aluminum alloy and is coated with a hard-anodized grey finish, making it extremely impact and water resistant. The LED is protected by a toughened mineral glass lens that comes with an anti-reflective coating so the production of the LED is not hindered. The DC-R20 also uses an efficient power management circuit to monitor the usage of the battery and LED, allowing it to run for up to 250 hours and maximizing the lifespan of both the batter and the LED.
