LED lights tend to get pretty hot after extended use, that's why the HC20 has special grooves in the head of the light to dissipate heat and keep you comfortable. The HC20 is equipped with the latest CREE XM-L2 LED, which can achieve a blinding 800 lumens. Accessing the three different output modes is done via the reliable button switch, which can easily be operated with a single hand. The HC20 is powered by a rechargeable li-ion 18650 battery, which is included, so you'll be able to adventure out as soon as you open it. You can squeeze out a run time of up to 15 hours, while in Low mode. A unique anode and cathode AUTO-ID technology ensures there are no malfunctions if the battery is inserted improperly. "I purchased the JetBeam HC20 Headlamp about a year ago, and it has operated flawlessly. Like all JetBeam products, the quality, fit, and finish are superb. I use this for camping and backpacking. I love being able to throw a couple 18650's in my pack and head for the hills. With multiple mode settings, I am able to use this light in a variety of different settings. The headband is decent and simple, and does a great job holding the headlamp in place. I wish the light was able to use both 18650's and CR123's but it works great regardless. If you are on the fence, rest assured, this light is worth every penny and you will be impressed with be blown away with the quality!!"

"Fully charged the battery and tested around the house and garage so far. Very easy to operate the different modes and the unit is lighter weight than it looks. Head strap is fairly comfortable with moderate activity, so I have good expectations for hunting & hiking. Can't go wrong having one for your bug-out bag!"

Very Bright--and has the most comfortable headband of any headlamp I have owned
"Bright enough at the medium setting for most things I do. I tried the high setting late at night and I could see fine for what seemed to be about 100 feet. The headband is great. It holds the lamp very securely to my forehead without feeling terribly 'tight'. Absolutely the most comfortable headband I have ever worn."
