Description

JETBeam Mini One SC

All-in-one Keychain Light

The JETBeam Mini One SC packs many different outputs, features, and more into a tiny 2-inch tall keychain light. Boasting an impressive 400 lumen ouput which throws up to 85 meters away meets the ideal range for walking at night, searching for lost objects, or when you need a light source fast.

Color LEDs + GITD Body

Alongside the main output is an RGB and single UV LED on the side panel. The red, green, and blue toggled outputs are great for map reading or as a safety indicator. The UV light can be used for counterfeit identification and more! Even if the SC is out of power its glow-in-the-dark body can still give you some peripheral light and/or be more easily located in the dark thanks to a bioluminescent and transparent body material.

Built-in USB-C Charging

A built-in lithium-ion 120mAh battery pack supplies the Mini One SC with power, needing only 40 minutes to charge to full capacity. When it's time to refuel an indicator light will glow red while charging via USB-C and turn green when fully charged so you know when it's done.

tiny battery

"light works great, battery is way too small. runs out of power too quickly."

Reviewer U. (2/5)

i really wanted to like it

"So to baseline this I own 2 others in this form factor. The rovyvon a5 uw and the nitecore tiki. So I am a fan of this format. I like the size, the rechargable battery and the side lights. So what is my beef with this light? Do you remember that girl (or boy) in high school that you loved from afar. They were everything you dreamed about, in a beautiful package with kind looking eyes? You spend months pining for them, you finally manage to talk to them and everything is clicking. Then a kiss, and, well it was really nice to meet you. 'Good luck in the future!' Yeah, exactly like that. This light, from afar, is Selena Gomez, and up close, it is Selena Gomez's speaking voice. So what is the root of the problem? UI. When I had this on my keychain there was not one time i pulled it out of my pocket and it was not on, EXCEPT when it was dead from turning on in my pocket. Every single time. Why? because 1 click, 1 inadvertent click from a key or just my pocket and it is on. trying to get the usb c port plug on today I turned the light on 3 times. It is not a press and hold to turn on (well that does turn on turbo) it is not a double click like the Tiki. it is one simple click from a switch that does not resist in the least, being clicked. Ugh. unless you are going to carry it in your hand ensuring you do not even brush against the button you might be able to not set off the light, but if it rolls over. . . you might have it turn on. That last was an exaggeration, but it is not good. Other things that are not great? every time you cycle through low med high you have to cycle through strobe. I like having strobe but do not like having it part of any other UI flow. I love my sofirn and lumintop anduril lights for 3clicks and hold for strobe. When I need it, it is there. but for my normal flashlight use, no jarring strobe as I cycle. And as i mentioned, this light has a click that is not very resistant so you can end up in strobe when not expecting to be in strobe. the side light are also a mess. First light is UV, great I use that more than colored lights anyway, but if you click past UV? well it is 7 clicks to get back to UV and you cannot just turn it off and back on because it has memory for the side light, so whatever you turn it off on, it turns right on with that selection. So, accidentally triple click and end up going past UV to Red? you have 7 more clicks to go back to UV. I see an opportunity here again to divide this UI, to take out the police strobe red blue, progressive flashing r-g-b and the red beacon at a minimum which would leave 4 clicks to get back to UV. Or maybe even put the colors on their own menu? lastly, the USB C port. Loved the thought of this. Loved it. Hey, I do not have to pack another charger, it can use the same one as my phone, A PD3 charger, Right? NOOOOOOOO. nope it will not charge on PD. Just lays their useless. So you need a USB A charger and A usb a to c cord which jetbeam does not include. lastly, this is a style choice but the GITD case is nifty, had it in the rovyvon, but it severely reduces the amount of UV if you are checking bills or other UV tasks, you are not getting full UV output because the case is absorbing the UV and as the case absorbs more and starts glowing it will hinder the UV transmission even more. That is one reason the TIKI with it's non GITD case is much better for UV use. It I had to place this with the other 2 lights I own I would say this is a 2, the rovy is a 4 and the TIKI is a 5. So if you are looking for a better UI experience, Go with the TIKI. Now the jetbeam and the Rovi are over 500 lumens, and lumens are always better right? Well, the Rovi steps down so fast on turbo, very shortly you are at 100 lumens, same with this light, there just is no way to provide enough cooling with that small metal head. The 300 lumens of the TIKI stays 300 lumens for, i think, 2 or 3 minutes before gradually turning down. That is a much better experience if you need a lot of light for a longer time. if Jetbeam cleaned up the UI considerably I could learn to like this, aside from the charging. If they cleaned up the UI and fixed the charging on PD, It would be a total homerun. If Jetbeam was asking, a more resistant click for the button to avoid turbo activation in pocket, 2 clicks to start main light 3 for UV and perhaps the RGB 4 clicks for main light strobe 5 clicks for red blue strobe (police mode) progressive r-g-b and red beacon. Last suggestion? red is the shortest light you can see, go 20' from a red beacon and you are going to fight to see it. Make the beacon blue or green those will be seen farther away."
