Description

JETBeam RRT01 Raptor

The RRT01 Raptor is JETBeam's latest edition in their Rapid Response Tactical series. Featuring dual tail and rotary-twist switches, you can quickly find your ideal brightness from 1 to 950 lumens. Tactical strobe and SOS functions are also infinitely variable, and both have shortcuts for quick-access.

Your Choice in LED Technology

Choose your preferred CRI (color rendering index) with your choice in LED: the CREE XP-L offers 80+ CRI while the Nichia 219C is 90+ for vivid color accuracy. Both offer a peak 950 lumens and 220m of throw. This compact light has been fitted with a slotted tail bezel, offering tail-standing and lanyard hanging options.

Extender Kit for 18650 Compatibility

The RRT01 Raptor is always compatible with CR123A, 16340, and 18350 batteries. The extender kit option adds two extender tubes, offering 18650 and 18500 battery compatibility for longer run-times. With all options, a JR11 1100mAh rechargeable 18350 battery with a built-in micro-USB port is included as an accessory.

Simple, Versatile, Rugged

"I carry this light everyday at work. It is simple to operate, push the tail cap and adjust the light intensity by twisting the light intensity ring. It is a one hand operation. The light will go any where, I have it clipped to my pants pocket, but the light can be put in your gym bag, carry-on or purse. I have dropped my light more than I want to confess, but it keeps working. The battery is larger than a 16340 battery and keeps its charge longer. It is the best light for service technicians that need a light at their finger tips and is reliable."

Love this flashlight.

"The JETBeam RRT01 Raptor is a great general purpose flashlight. However, at full brightness the whole flashlight becomes too hot to hold. Full brightness on this flashlight is only useful to me for a minute or so. I use Surefire flashlights for long duration at full brightness."

Jetbeam RRT01 Raptor

"I wanted to get a decent flashlight to carry in my EDC bag. I had looks at a few and then decide to go with the Jetbeam RRT01. This flashlight is exactly what I wanted. Small. Rugged. Nice lumens with our being too much."

JETBeam RRT-01

"This latest JETBeam RRT01 kit can accommodate a 18650 battery, is available with a warm white LED, and has a ""rotary ring"" dimmer. Simple a great UI. Turns down extremely low for indoor, nighttime, and closeup use. and gets very bright when needed. Good warm white color rendition and super runtime with the 18650 battery. All-around a fantastic house and vehicle flashlight. Nice and small, but not too small. Rotary - Ring variable dimming is the absolute best human user interface for a flashlight out there, period."

Simply the best pocket flashlight

"I’ve had a version of the RRT-01 since the original one in about 2013. I’ve gotten other newer flashlights from Olight and Zebralight that are brighter and more efficient, but I still end up with this in my pocket. The rotary ring interface is far superior to any other button or switch out there, especially being able to dial it on ridiculously low when you’ve up in the middle of the night and even a phone screen is too bright. IMO the tail switch is redundant and you can keep it on all the time and just use the ring - I have a Frankenstein version with a modern head and an old switch-less body and it I’ve noticed no parasitic drain or issues with the accidental activation. Beam profile on this version is also quite throwy for its size (XP-L) so it will effectively go about 80-100m."

Becomes Real Hot Real Fast

"Nowhere does it tell you that this flashlight is only usable for less than five minutes at maximum illumination, at 950 Lumens using the included 18350 battery, before the whole flashlight becomes too hot to hold. Using a CR123A battery at max illumination, at 420 Lumens, you have fifteen minutes before the flashlight becomes too hot to hold. Of course, with the rotary interface you can dial down the light output. At about one-fourth of maximum illumination using the 18350 battery, the flashlight never gets too warm to hold. This JetBeam RRT01 Raptor is certainly adequate on a lower illumination levels to keep you from bumping into trees as you walk in the dark. But, if you expect to use any illumination level even approaching maximum, it's only usable for a few minutes at a time."

RRT-01

"I’ve had RRT-01 flashlights since they came out. My most recent RRT-01 is the warm color LED and it’s fantastic. I have the identical light in cool and it’s just as bright. It’s just a different color light. I keep this in my pocket always. It’s so easy pulling it out and twisting the variable dimmer. I leave the switch turned on, the switch is a bonus. The last generation didn’t have a rear clicky. I love this light and give it 5 stars all day long"

Excellent control and build quality

"So nice! The continuously variable rotary control is my preferred interface but is so hard to find in the market. This light is a great size for pocket EDC and allows plenty of use on a charge for my daily use. The Nichia output and color are both top notch. I like having both switches, the tail switch is nice for lockout / momentary when needed or can be left on and just use the dial. This is a great light to update my aging SRT3, and I can keep using my fleet of 16340's."

Andy (5/5)

Almost there

"Looking for a replacement for my Sunwayman variable that stopped working well after ai dropped it, and this is Almost it. It is a bit larger, a bit heavier, but not bad. Unfortunately the variable adjustment has a huge dead spot at the beginning which wastes almost 20% of the rotation, and there doesn’t seem to be a recommended replacement battery (the one 18350 I’ve tried from Thrunite is slightly too big and gets stuck)."

Net M. (4/5)

Almost there

"I really like this light, it checks a lot of the boxes. Almost perfect. All I want is a good reliable 18650 light with none of the cheesy silly gimmicks like strobe or s. o. s. or whatever. I want 'on' and 'off' with a good battery life. This light is the closest to that I have found. The light from the Nichia 219c is great. The brightness adjustment is done in such a way that it is actually useful. I keep it set in the bottom 30% and never have to worry about glare when turning it on. While it does have the useless strobe gimmick, it is done in such a way that it cannot happen by accident. One small con is I would like a bit more resistance on the adjusting ring, I'll be getting another."

Q&A

This light offers two choices for the LED. What are the color temperatures (Kelvin) of the two options?
The Nichia is normally between 4000-4500K The Cree is usually around 6500K
which emitter does this light come with? I did not see a drop-down box to make a choice, though it mentions either Cree or Nichia in the description. Thank you.
You have to drop the first box down first to make that choice of whether you want an extender or not and then you can drop the box down to choose the LED manufacturer.
