Next up in the dual purpose flashlight lane is the FL18 from Klarus. The FL18 features a unique layout that offers both an ultra-bright primary LED and a built-in diffused LED mounted to the side of the light. The two lighting systems offer the best in long-distance outdoor lighting and even close-range illumination. Powered by two separate switches, the FL18's LED's can be accessed rapidly and independently from each other. Accessing all of the different outputs is done via the dual side switch buttons, which eliminates accidental activation because of its stepped design, as well as being different shapes and colors. The rugged and durable FL18 is constructed from aero-grade aluminum and has an IPX-8 waterproof rating, meaning this awesome light can withstand all of the elements.

Lighting Technology

CREE LED

Equipped with the latest CREE XM-L2 LED for the primary light and a CREE XP-G2 (R5) and CREE XP-E (R2) LEDs for the secondary flood lights, the FL18 outputs a total of eight outputs plus a four flashing modes and SOS. Now that is a lot of options. While in High mode, the FL18 emits a scorching 950 lumens, 330 lumens in Medium, 10 lumens in Low, and finally one single lumen in Moonlight mode, for those quiet and subtle moments. The multi-colored sidelight produces a diffused flood for close-up hands free lighting and can be used as a lantern, a floodlight, or as a signal light. The red flashing SOS from the side light can be used a signal of distress or danger, while the green flashing mode can serve as a lantern or beacon.

Advanced Charging System

Powering the FL18 are either two CR123A batteries or a single 18650 cell. The FL18 utilizes Klarus' remarkable magnetic charging system for the most efficient experience possible. The magnetic connection automatically aligns to the charging port at the side of the light. The other end of the charging cord fits and standard USB outlet, so you can charge wherever there is an available USB charging port. A visible charging status indicator is located around the magnetic ring and will turn red when charging and green when fully charged.NOTE: Only the custom Klarus 18650 battery can be charged inside the light. Regular 18650 batteries will operate fine, but you won't be able to charge them in the light.Features:
