High-Capacity Battery
The LG D1 18650 battery features ICR chemistry, also known as Lithium-ion Cobalt Oxide (LiCoO2) or LiCo, which is the most common type of 18650. ICR batteries are often used in laptop battery packs, smart phones, flashlights and other devices within the hand-held electronics industry. These rechargeable batteries are made up of a Cobalt Oxide cathode and a Graphite Carbon anode. During discharge, the Lithium ions are free to move from the anode to the cathode, due to the layered structure of the cathode. While ICR batteries have a shorter lifespan and a limited load capability, when compared with other Li-ion types, they still offer a high capacity and runtime. For best results, it is advised to only discharge and charge an ICR battery at a current that is equal to or lower than its C-rating.
