"I have a Skil 2130 drill driver in my hobby room. It requires three 4/5C nicads. I bought the batteries with tabs. With solder and electrical tape, I bound the batteries together and placed them in the drill driver. Now the drill driver works like new."

"I cannot give 5 stars as I cannot verify how long these cells will last in service since I just got them installed. I bought them to repair the batteries I have for my two DeWalt 12v drills, each with a charger and two batteries. I have had and used these extensively for about 10 years. The batteries finally failed to hold a charge. I dropped and broke it a while ago. New replacement batteries are almost as much as a whole new drill. I ordered 30 of these 4/5 sub C cells with tabs to rebuild my batteries. The cost for enough cells to rebuild three batteries is less than the cost of one new battery pack. This task is not to be taken lightly; it takes some skill and technique to disassemble and reassemble the new batteries into the correct configuration. It took me about an hour to complete the first battery pack. The 3rd only took 20 minutes. You will need a good soldering iron. I used rosin core solder, but it did not work well on the battery tabs. I found that ""ruby fluid"" soldering flux works excellently. I cannot say how long these batteries will last as I just completed assembling the batteries today. I am thinking it is a good bet that these cells have not been sitting on the shelf as long as the ""new old stock"" DeWalt battery packs I would have had to pay 3x as much for."
