A Chameleon For Any Situation
The Nitecore Chameleon Series is designed to bring you mid-sized lights with ample power coupled with colored LED's that fulfill a variety of special tasks. Every member of the Chameleon family is built from hard anodized aluminum and features O-ring seals that allow it to be submersible in water up to 2 meters (IPX-8 Rating) . The Chameleons utilize a tail-switch for activation, and two side-switches for mode selection. The first side-switch cycles through the primary LED's five outputs, which range from a .1 lumen firefly mode, to a 440 lumen turbo. All of this makes for a pretty standard 18650 style light with all the durability and premium hardware we have all come to expect from Nitecore, but they didn't stop there. Each member of the chameleon family also comes with three more LED's, one set of two provide a moderate, but effective red, green, and blue illumination, while the secondary LED provides a brilliant light with a color specific to each model in the Chameleon family! That means every light in this series has an ultra-bright white LED, a secondary colored LED, and a third set of auxiliary LED's that can be accessed instantly with the side-switches! The Chameleon family truly blends in to fit its environment, with features that make it perfect for hunters, campers, law enforcement, and emergency preppers!

"The variable intensity on the white light is very useful in low light environments. The bright light is blinding ! Ultra violet feature is both professionally useful and fun for exploration. For hunting atmospheres the colored lights are very helpful. The UV mode has a warning flasher built in so you don't shine the UV in your face. We discovered another unadvertised function by chance that is very special and must be used with discretion ! We won't spoil the surprise."

"A very versatile flashlight. 5 levels of main output from 1 lumen to 440 max, and the spacing between levels is very well placed. The UV light is great for checking stains on the carpet for people with pets. Haven't used much of the 3 colored lights yet, but they will come in handy when needed, particularly outdoors. 3 special modes - strobe, SOS and beacon are very nice to have. I like the beacon mode a lot - makes it easy to get attention. Instant on feature let you jump to either max output, or UV light when turn on the flashlight. Very useful. Using 18650 rechargeable battery is the way to go. It will save money over using CR123A in the long run, plus it gives much better run time. I use Orbtronic protected 18650, 3400 mAh button top. It works great with the light. Be careful with flat top batteries. They won't make proper contact at the positive terminal due to Nitecore's physical reverse-polarity protection. You can add a small piece of metal (or magnet) at that end to make it work but it's easier just use button top batteries to avoid having to deal with this. The light is a little too big for everyday carry (I prefer Nitecore P12), but it is an excellent one for home use or keeping with the car, camping gear, etc. The build quality is very good, typical of Nitecore products. Highly recommended!"
