Favorite light

"I’ve had several of them and give several as gifts."

Quality Manufacturing Exceptionally Bright for It Size

"This has already become my go-to flashlight carry-with flashlight. The much improved switching system takes a few minutes to master but is fast after you get the hand of it. Questions: Can anyone estimate run times at different brightnesses when using CR123 batteries? What are the estimated run times for the strobe functions which I would use in an emergency in my aircraft?"

— Rob T. (5/5)

Fancy battery with a flashlight

"This isn't that great of a flashlight but you do get a fancy battery with it. It's a floodlight. And the lanyard has nowhere to hook to. And the intuitive press to turn off the light actually throws it into blinding flashing mode. The two level switch operation and turning it off takes some getting used to. Current draw when off is about 150uA, which is a lot for something that should be in deep sleep but it shouldn't run down that big battery for quite a while. It would be nice if they'd included a tailswitch to fully power it off though, so it wouldn't wreck an unprotected battery. A 1/4' battery spacer is needed to use this flashlight with an unprotected battery."

Versatile and Powerful

"I'm somewhat of a flashlight and lighting 'nut'. I own far more than I'll ever need yet I wouldn't want to be without any of them. This the latest of a long list and it may be the best overall. It has range and impressive lighting duration at all levels of power thanks to the muscle packed 5,000 mAh 21700 battery included. It works for low light unobtrusive guidance or area orientation to bushwacking and self-defense with equal aplomb. I carry it in my pocket but the belt holder with cover is nice, too. It's a good value and another BatteryJunction. com winner."

— Lawrence B. (5/5)

Disapointed

"Great light if only it will hold a charge. I have several Nitecores and they are great lights, nothing but positive things to say about them. But this one, don't know if it's the battery or the flashlight draining it but it does not hold a charge very long. Last time I charged it, used it for maybe 5 minutes, next time I picked it up (about a month later) it was dead."

Super Bright -- great for safety on land and sea!!!

"This light (1st) was purchased for daughter living in the city and walking to work. The super bright strobe will startle any biped and allow departure. It also works for a long time on low settings for safety in walking. The only improvement would be a drilled end cap to attach the lanyard. That would make it perfect! My son got one (Christmas) too for outdoor activity and use sailing on the ocean."

— William (4/5)

Great Flashlight

"Had trouble finding where to charge the battery-not on the flashlight itself. Otherwise, a great light at a reasonable price."

— Steve (5/5)

Great EDC Companion

"This is a fantastic flashlight to carry with you day in and day out. There's a built-in pocket clip that fits on my pocket so I have the light with me without a second thought, and I can fit it onto the bill of my hat when I need to light something and use my hands at the same time. Personally, I'm a fan of the momentary turbo function because I can use all 4400 lumens right away"

— Lee (5/5)

Not bad but disspointing

"Very bright capable but disappointed in that you must remove the battery to charge it. Makes it difficult to use mobile. Took overnight for 1st charge. Will have to obtain a second battery to use on after dark search. Overall it is OK but just OK."

— Robert C. (3/5)

Left Nitecore E4K in the engine compartment of a dump truck for 6 months and this happened!

"The first time that I used this flashlight was on a night job in my dump truck. The coolant light came on, so I popped the hood, checked the coolant and sensor, laid the flashlight on the hood bracket (where the hood rests when closed) then closed the hood, strapped it down and went back to work. Having forgotten the last time that I had used the flashlight, I looked all over and finally chocked it up to another high quality flashlight that disappeared or 'walked off the job' as is not unusual for me. My low end flashlights never seem to have that problem. Fast forward six months after having opened and closed the hood countless times. . . low and behold, there it is! It was all grimy, and some of the anodizing had rubbed off, but when I hit the button. . . LIGHT! This torch is durable and bright. The button is easy to find in the dark (which is important to me and not always the case with flashlights. ) I'm a huge fan of Nitecore."

Q&A

What are the dimensions of this light? Length x widest diameter.
Please find the following dimensions of the light in question. Dimensions Length 4.62" / 117.6mm Head Diameter 1.13" / 28.6mm Tube Diameter 1.02" / 25.8mm Tail Diameter 1.11" / 28.1mm Weight 2.82oz / 80g
Can anyone have estimates on run times at different brightnesses when using CR123 batteries? What are the estimated run times for the strobe functions which I would use in an emergency in my aircraft?
The manufacturer has not provided us with this information. To reach the maximum output that the light can do, we would recommend using the 21700 and save the 123's for emergency purposes.
It is not allowing me to see the 1 star reviews. Why is that ???
I am not sure why you are unable to see them. I see two at the bottom of page 6.
