Never Fear Hours of Darkness

"This is a seriously heavy duty illumination tool. To call this just a flashlight is like calling the Titanic a dinghy. The innovative features which NITECORE incorporated into the EDC35 is truly impressive. When I first held the EDC35, it was a bit heavier than I'm used to for an EDC but make no mistake, this is a premium top notch piece of equipment, which I am truly happy to have purchased. From the easy peasy excellently placed, near the tail cap, lockout feature, once in the locked position, it's not turning on without being unlocked by hand. The charging port has a metal twist around protective cover in lieu of one of those cheap rubber port protective covers, which tend to break/get lost. The power on/off button is slightly recessed, which means that the EDC35 can safely be carried in a pocket/bag. The pocket clip is the strongest I've ever seen. The idea of a Nitecore with 5000 Lumens tickled my fancy, had to have one ! I am quite satisfied with 5-1300 Lumens but knowing 3000 & 5000 Lumens are also available as an option, is reassuring should the need ever arise. I did test the highest brightest levels but please be aware that at 3000 or 5000 Lumens, it gets very hot within 8 to 10 seconds. The EDC35 would be very well suited for cold weather use. 1300 Lumens is nothing to balk at. Power level meter lights at a glance, really nice touch. The built-in 6000mAh 21700 Li-ion rechargeable battery will provide loads of power, 90 hours at 5 Lumens, amazing ! The EDC35 would make a great light for law enforcement, besides the quality of light, its bezel could very easily be used as a glass breaker or defensive mechanism. I've yet to try out the sensor function. The EDC35's initial charge seemed to take a long time but this might be expected using such a powerful battery."
