"We bought 3 of these for nightlights, in case a power outage happens. Well built, decently bright, and at the lowest setting will provide sufficient light for 24 hours. Much better than candles, and use plain AAs! Only cons are that they could be smaller and there's no way to create a normal non-diffused beam. Excellent complement to normal flashlights, and fit our purposes perfectly."

I believe you could design it for a cr123a and get more lumens but I also appreciate the AA option. Like a chapstik in your pocket---probably knapsack-- doesn't take up any size. Buy two and 8 AA batteries and be set for the week!"
