The custom-designed Lithium Ion cell allows the headlamp to produce a 3 minute burst of its intense 650 Lumen max output and can power the light on its lowest output for up to 6 days on a single charge! The custom battery can even be recharged internally by fastening the included magnetic charging cable to the light's tailcap, a feature that sets both the 16340 and the H1R apart from the competition.
With great power comes great responsibility and Olight made sure to make the H1R as sturdy and dependable as it is powerful. The light's body is made from adamant aluminum alloy and is coated with a scratch resistant hard-anodized finish. The durable design protects it from drops as high as 1 meter (3.2 feet) and even allows it to be submerged underwater with no damage, protecting it from practically anything the elements can throw at it! "I have several other headlamps of this style, the right angle design - I like them all, but this is the first one I grab. It is very lightweight on the head, so it doesn't require the strap over the top. If I'm going to ski through the trees at night I will likely go for a bigger, brighter headlamp, but for less demanding applications this H1R is my go-to headlamp."

The modes are limited to the several described and without the many superfluous and unnecessary modes found in similar lights. The head band is snug enough as new to allow for some relaxing of the elastic without loosing its functionality."

"I own the O-light S-10 Baton Limited Edition which uses the exact same pocket clip CONFIGURATION / DESIGN. This aforementioned clip has to be the worlds most wretched / user unfriendly / nastiest / cursed clip designed by a human being. After shredding my trouser / jean pockets for almost a year it finally cracked where it's welded to the circular part that gips the body of the light (which then fell into deep snow). Luckily I found the light (and two pieces of the clip) & Battery Junction did replace the cursed clip with the same (from HELL) OEM style one. Since then the light (with clip) permanently resides on my bedside table."
"This thing is awesome! My husband and I bought two of these to use with our hobbies. They are light weight, comfortable & rechargeable. The rechargeable piece is important because you typically use these for extended periods of time. The build quality is terrific and they came packaged nicely. Battery Junction as always delivered terrific service. We (my husband I) own other headlamps that are and aren't rechargeable. They are a little on the heavy side, and eat batteries. We also love the fact that the light can be removed and used as a respectable flashlight on its own. I would definitely recommend to anyone who needs hands free lighting for for short and extended time use."
