The new Olight Perun is a powerful multi-functional flashlight that can be your favorite EDC, right-angled or magnetic lighting device. The Perun has a magnetic base and sturdy pocket clip so it can be utilized in several different hands-free situations or tasks. Simply attach it to any metal surface, clip it to yourself or just stand it up on a flat surface for invaluable right-angled lighting. The wide beam and broad hotspot make it ideal for close to mid-range tasks, and the ultra-low setting is perfect for reading or camp-side conversations. This light has the unique feature of being equipped with a infrared sensor that acts as proximity protection. If someone stands in front of your light while activated, this sensor will automatically adjust the brightness mode to the lowest setting as to not blind anyone mistakenly.
Long Lasting Power
The Perun is powered from an Olight customized 18650 li-ion battery that supports extremely long runtimes and several brightness settings. When your light is reaching the last of its power, it will gently vibrate every 30 seconds to let you know that you have 10% or less remaining. The patented magnetic charging base and MCC3 cable provide an incredibly fast charge time - even 50% faster than the H2R. It is also includes a headband accessory to easily turn it into a hands-free lighting device.

Very wide and bright beam, much like a flood-light but with very little throw
"I bought the Perun in both black and blue. This is the first blue Olight I have owned and I really like the color. I was disappointed to find the very first (and only) time I removed the clip (it comes attached), it left two scratches on the slot where it attaches. I guess I should expect a flashlight to get scratched eventually, but on the very first day, that was a bit of a downer. The checkering is very nice. The dual clip also helps in gripping the Perun. I found the tint more on the Neutral White side as opposed to the Cool White side. The beam is a very wide flood. There is a visible, wide hotspot, but the spill light is also very bright and wide. The modes are well-spaced at Turbo 2000 LU, High at 500 LU, Med at 120 LU, Low at 30 LU and Moon at 5 LU. SOS Mode is more useful in this style of light as opposed to Strobe. I found Turbo on a fully charged OEM battery, stepped down from 2000 LU to 800 LU after less than 2 mins. The specs called for 2. 5 mins. The beam got too hot to hold my hand in front of after only 5 secs. After 2 mins on Turbo, the bezel was too hot to hold as well. I chose not to continue with the runtime test due to the heat and I did not want to risk damaging a brand new light. I feel confident with the fully charged 3500 mAh battery, I would be able to get runtimes close to advertised. Speaking of the battery, the customized battery measures 69mm long. Once again, I wish Olight would make a charger that can charge their customized batteries OUTSIDE of the light. The proximity feature works well. It will dim down from any mode higher than Low and bring the light down to Low until the obstruction is moved. Once the obstruction is about a foot away from the lens, the higher mode will resume. There is a magnet in the tailcap that allows you to stick the light in a variety of places and angles. I found it came in handy. The magnet is not overly powerful, but strong enough to hang the Perun upside-down and not have to worry about it falling. I found the straps to the headband to be on the thick side. Making adjustments was more difficult than other headbands I have because the Olight straps do not slide easily. The magnetic feature where the light mounts is nice, but I wish there was a notch in the mount to allow for attaching the light WITH the clip still attached to the Perun. That way the clip would not have to be removed and reattached over and over, causing more and more scratches each and every time. The light is difficult to rotate once it is strapped in because the rubber securing strap grips onto the checkering so well. It is easier to grab the light by its head and rotate it because the head provides a better grip. I am concerned at how long the rubber securing strap will last over time."
