The Olight S30R is the latest in Olight's line of rechargeable pocket sized flashlights. Featuring a powerful CREE XM-L2 LED, the S30R can reach a maximum output of 1000 Lumens! Included in the package are both a compact charging dock and a 3400 mAh 18650 battery, everything you need to charge up and be ready to tackle any situation that requires intense lighting. The Charging dock can be securely fastened to a desk, counter or any other flat surface, and a bright LED indicator light shows when the flashlight has been fully charged. The included micro USB cable can be plugged in to any computer or USB power jack. The S30R can also run on 2 primary CR123A batteries in a pinch, giving additional versatility to this fantastic light.
The standout feature of this rechargeable flashlight is its incredibly powerful performance. The CREE XM-L2 LED can reach up to 1000 Lumens, and several lower lighting modes can be accessed to either stretch out battery life or just to suit your needs. This light can be dialed down to 600, 100, 20 or just a single lumen of output, so whether you need to light up the great outdoors or just need a little light for reading the S30R has it covered. The light also has access to a powerful blinding strobe mode for self defense.
Despite its compact form, the S30R maintains all of the features that one could expect from a full size tactical flashlight. The body of this light is crafted from aircraft grade aluminum that has been type-III hard anodized to prevent scratch and drop damage. The light has been tested with drops of up to 1.5 meters, and shockproof springs support the power source even against violent impacts. To make sure that the light is weather ready, it has been rated IPX-8 Waterproof, and is in fact submersible up to 2 meters. The electronics are protected by thermal management programming that will lower light output by 60% after 5 minutes in turbo mode to prevent heat damage. "I've never considered spending $80 for a flashlight, but this one whispered 'Buy Me'. There is nothing about this light that I dislike. "This flashlight has a lot of cool features on it but does not hold up very well. Dropped from around 3 feet and put a dent in the top the on off button gets jammed up and light doesn't work. Not to happy with this"
"I thought the desktop charger was a great idea. The trade off is the power/mode button is difficult to find in a hurry. Even if you use the pocket clip, it spins too easily so it might not be lined up with the on/off button. One of the items included was a double sided piece of plastic tape in the shape of the charging base. It was so sticky, the tape deformed when trying to remove the backing."

"I have somewhat mixed feelings about the light. While it is well built and has a number of good features I gave it 4 stars (maybe 3. 5 stars) as I can hardly tell the difference between the 600 and 1000 lumen settings, which leads me to believe that it's somewhat short of 1000 lumens. I found that the magnet holds just fine, I put it on my refrigerator door and it held with no problem. I did not use the plastic tape included for the bottom of the charger base as I found that I did not need it to hold the charger on a flat surface and it held the light just fine during charging, this also allows me to use it in different locations as needed. I had no problem with it turning over. If you do not have a problem with the difference, or lack of, between the 600 and 1000 lumen output, it's a great light."
"This is the second such type ( high powered ) edc I've got this month, first one being a Nightcore ec20. I'm torn between the two. The Olight has a few more features ^ a more pleasing tint to me. I always liked Olight products for their high quality & design and this light carries on that tradition very well."
