Smart Circuit, Quality Made
The Smart Freedom Circuit allows the body switch to have multiple functions. This one button controls: instant On/Off, brightness modes, demo mode, 3 strobe beacons, automatic SOS, signal (morse code) mode, and the 3 minute timer mode. Beam color characteristics:
Red
Red is favored by pilots, sailors, fishermen, and astronomers for the excellent ability to preserve night vision and also for uses of safety, signaling, and map reading. Red is an internationally recognized attention color. 630 nm.
Yellow
Yellow is a traditional flashlight beam color, with good projection - up to 20 to 30 feet. Because the red, yellow, & orange Photons use a single CR2032 battery rather than the pair of smaller CR2016 cells used in the other colors, they will provide a significantly longer battery life at the expense of some brightness. This makes these colors excellent for use in emergency kits or other situations where battery life is a primary concern over absolute brightness. 592 nm.
Orange
The orange beam combines some of the aspects of both the red and the yellow. It doesn't disturb night vision as much as the yellow, yet will illuminate a path better than the red. 605 nm.
Green
The green light is nearly as bright as the blue, turquoise, and white lights while offering a slightly longer battery life. Because the green LED bulb tends to be a bit more efficient than the other colors, it can run for up to 20 hours with one set of batteries. 525 nm.
Blue
The blue beam is tremendously bright and makes an excellent all-around flashlight. The wide-angle bulb illuminates everything to the side as well as forward. 470 nm.
Turquoise ("Night-Vision NV Green")
Because of its lighter shade of color, the turquoise beam is arguably slightly brighter than the blue. The wide-angle bulb can light up an entire room. At reduced brightness levels (try swapping a single CR2032 for the included pair of CR2016 batteries), the blue-green color of the turquoise is an excellent alternative to red for night vision preservation. 495 nm.
White
Now with the Nichia GS LED! 2-4X the brightness of similar LED's! (white Freedom Micro only), the white is now hands-down the brightest of beam colors, a full 2-4X brighter than just about every other single-LED keychain-sized flashlight on the market! White is great for all-around use as everything is viewed in full color. The narrow-angle bulb produces an incredibly bright -- and practical -- flashlight-style beam. 6500 K.
Purple
The purple light produces a black-light effect, making lighter colors (whites, fluorescents, etc.) appear to glow. Purple bulbs do emit some UV light, which can be harmful if viewed directly. 405 nm.

No More Accessories
"The Photon Freedom (visible light) microlights used to be sold with a variety of optional accessories like neck lanyard holders, diffusers, finger ring frames, and so on. The descriptions sometimes indicated this, sometimes not so clearly. Seems the newer batches are pretty much just the microlight. In any event, the Freedom (visible light) models are quite useful as just-in-case lights someone might wear around their neck while camping for a late night walk (NV green LED best), or place in a first aid kit (white LED best). Yellow seems Ok for subdued light, but orange, red, and blue are questionable for practical use. I tried UV, but its 365nm output was too weak compared to the Photon I simpler device. I'm sure that's the case with IR models, too. I'm a strong proponent of microlights for just-in-case reasons, and definitely recommend the Freedom (visible light) especially with either white LED or NV green LED."
Great Back Up Light!
"Who knew so much power and features can be packed in a keychain light?? This light is bright! but like other Photon Lights, if you don\'t need it that bright you can power the beam down to a lower setting. I would recommend this to any outdoors men as a back-up light or camp light. With the clip feature, it makes a great headlight that will light your path to the outhouse and with the cord neck attachment, it\'s on the ready if your batteries fail in your main flashlight. If your camping trip turns into a \'Survival Adventure\' you have a SOS, Strobe light on hand around your neck!! at this price, you could have one on your pack too! I plan to buy more for my son and me."

"Great Small light i clip it on my Hat Brim with clip option. When eyes are adjusted to night this thing is great. I could actually Hike out of the back-country in darkness with it if needed. i carry two and spare Batteries. They weigh nothing. They can get wet in rain. not sure about submerged??"
Great value in a small package
"Easy to use, bright beyond belief! I had these when I was in Basic training and kept me going till I lost them years ago. I decided holding a flashlight for everything and or a headlamp to carry around everywhere was too cumbersome so I remembered these little guys. Now I do not need to turn on lights around the house, instead I can click this little guy to get around. Also, working on vehicle, you can get it in every nook and cranny. I recommend having the covert sheild to help focus the beam and to help from getting blinded by the light! I have the UV one for my hotel inspection and the clear for every day use. Next I need the night vision and I'm all set."

"I've bought a couple dozen key chain lights over the last 10 years. First the older Photon 2 with the manual switch to keep it on, then I started buying these. Every last one of these lights still works, with an occasional battery change. I am a service technician and I am constantly in and out of the truck with keys in multiple locks all day. Keys get dropped often onto pavement and the light is unfazed. My wife and I have them on every set of keys, and I give them as gifts to family and friends. I managed to break the battery cover on one of them and the company sent me a replacement for free. The older Photon 2 isn't fully waterproof and the one on my Camelback would turn on and stay on when I got caught in a downpour. No permanent damage, but these Freedoms are water tight and don't have that issue. Dog has one on his leash and it works great to be seen by cars. People slow down and look to see what that bouncing light is, saves me from having to use the big flashlight to announce ourselves. Order a few, you can't go wrong. Battery Junction consistently has the best price on them as well."
