Princeton Tec's Apex Extreme Headlamp was designed with extreme outdoor adventurers in mind, whether you are a cyclist, explorer, climber, or backpacker, this headlamp will help you reach new heights. As a reliable member of the Apex family, this light has the same great user interface and output as the others, but the battery compartment is in a remote enclosure that can be clipped close to your body for optimal battery warmth and usage in cold temperatures. This battery pack is an external model, that also reduces the weight on your head to make your climb or adventure that much more comfortable. With the built-in battery power meter, you can also be sure of the condition of your batteries, indicating high, medium or low battery life adding more peace of mind to your excursion.

Technology Lighting the Way

The Apex Extreme has the same lighting benefits as its counterparts in the Apex family, but the Extreme has the longest burn time of this series. This powerful headlamp can burn up to 100 hours on its highest mode reaching distances up to 120 meters at 550 lumens, and up to 200 hours on its lowest. It was made to make adventures easier in the winter months when the nights are longer and the temperatures are dropping. It is built with one Maxbright regulated and dimmable LED, four white Ultrabright regulated, dimmable LEDs and has the added bonus of the Princeton Tec's proprietary LED optic collimator. The Princeton Tec Optic Collimators are calibrated to the type of LED and application of each light, maximizing the brightness of each. The collimator gathers all available light from an LED in the form of scattered rays and re-emits the light as parallel rays, making it more optically efficient than a standard reflector. The Maxbright LED is the highest quality available, and this single light ensures a powerful, white beam useful for a variety of tasks at different distances. The Ultrabright LEDs are a group of lights that offer a more powerful white, wide-beam light that are perfect for close to mid-range tasks. These LEDs have a sophisticated regulating circuit that maintains initial brightness as long as the batteries have sufficient voltage. When other lights tend to dim as the batteries drain, the Apex Extreme's powerful LEDs will continue to light your way into the cold winter nights.
