In this case, hybrid refers to the ability to interchange between the built-in battery pack and an additional external battery like a 10440 or AAA. By default, the Hybrid H3 will draw power from the proprietary battery pack, but you can switch between that and an external battery at your own leisure. This feature allows you to go further periods between charges so you can get more use of your penlight.
Need more power, but don't have an extra battery on hand? Recharge the internal battery pack with the built-in USB-C charging port. This convenient port makes it easy to charge on-the-go.
This penlight allows you to choose the LED you want. Pick between a high output CREE XP-G3 with a 400 lumen max, or a 90+ CRI Nichia 219C. The CREE option is 6500K cool white while the Nichia is 4500K neutral white with proper color rendering. No matter which LED you choose, the Hybrid H3 has an orange peel reflector which supplies a smooth, floody beam that's great for day-to-day use.

"As a light, it’s great - bright and reasonable spread. Some learning curve for use - one tap for moonlight, two quick taps for full beam and more taps to cycle brightness. Hold to turn off. Fatal flaw for me is the button is too sensitive and it’ll switch on in my pocket and drain the batteries in a few hours. Happened twice in 4 days - meaning it was dead when I needed it. Will keep it in my tool kit, but no good for EDC."
"RovyVon's customer service is terrible and their product does not work. They require a unreasonable amount of documentation when there exists an invoice from Battery Junction that shows the purchase. I would recommend that RoyVon's products be avoided at all costs. A better light can be purchased at Walmart for $5. 00."
