Streamlight's Sidewinder Compact II is a military-style headlamp, and it will endure the heat of battle, combat missions, reconnaissance--whatever you need it to do; it can provide the best illumination possible among this class of lights. One unique feature of the Sidewinder Compact II is that it has multiple LED bulbs; four, in fact. The primary LED is the classic Streamlight-brand C4 white LED, that is shock-resistant and has a lifespan of 50,000h; the second LED is a 5mm blue LED that is also shock-resistant and lasts for 100,000h, with a peak wavelength of 470nm (nanometer); the third LED is a shock-resistant, 100,000h IR (Infrared) LED that is 5mm, and has a peak wavelength of 880nm; and, the fourth LED is a 100,000h, shock-resistant, 5mm red LED, possessing a peak wavelength of 630nm. The IR LED has a safety setting that is intended to stop any battery drain or any unknowing turn-on. There are differing output rates, Candela rates, and beam distances for each battery type, which are described below in detail. To turn on the strobe settings, all you have to do is press the push-button On/Off switch twice; you can press this button up to 300,000 times, so it is long-lasting. The Sidewinder Compact II will activate at its Low setting, and then it gradually increases to the High setting in four subtle actions.
An Extremely Reliable Light
The battery source for the Sidewinder Compact II is varied, and you can insert either a CR123A lithium primary (included), or an AA-sized primary, such as a lithium cell or an alkaline cell. Your Streamlight Sidewinder Compact II has been sealed with an O-ring; therefore, it is protected by a gasket, and even better, its IPX rating, which measures water resistance, is 7, indicating that it can be exposed to water up to a meter deep, and it won't quit on you. This is an extremely reliable light for that reason, and also because it has an impact resistance of 3m. Other reasons that the Sidewinder Compact II is extremely reliable are that its case material is constructed from nylon, which is weatherproof and very sturdy; and the lens is indestructible polycarbonate with a non-scratch finish, for the most premium quality lens available for a military/law enforcement flashlight. There are a few more features on the Sidewinder Compact II that in particular set it apart from other headlamps, and are created with a military purpose in mind, such as: a rotary selector knob/rubber dome actuator, that, when pulled, will turn; this halts any potential switching of settings, and it also lets the user choose the LED bulb color; this method was designed so that it would be simple to use and to activate for the user, who may have an obstruction like bulky gloves or heavy equipment. The Sidewinder Compact II swivels up to 185° and 360° when attached to the helmet mount, for improved agility and for improved radiance when you need it most.

It is covered by Streamlight's one-year warranty, and it includes a CR123A battery, and a helmet mount. The clip on the helmet mount can fasten to not just the helmet itself, but also to a head strap, or your MOLLE vest.
