These SureFire EP4 Sonic Defenders® Plus earplugs were designed to protect a user's hearing while maintaining his or her ability to maintain routice conversations. These earpieces feature a triple-flanged for a comfortable fit within larger ear canals. The EP4 Sonic Defenders® Plus earplugs provide a Noise Reduction Rating (NPR) of 24dB, which reduces harmful noises (above 85dB) from passing through the canal. These earpieces, from SureFire, differ from other hearing protection products, as they still allow sounds at safe levels to pass through the ear canal. The EP4 earplugs also feature an optional folter cap for additional protection against those sounds, such as those heard while on a plane, for example.
Comfort & Style
These SureFire EP4 earplugs are sold as a set, which includes one unit for each ear, each colored coded for quick-and-easy depiction. The Sonic Defenders® Plus earpieces are made from a soft yet durable hypoallergenic polymer that easily slides onto and into a user's ear. These EP4 earplugs are therefore comfortable to wear, even for long periods of time, and will last up to six months, depending on usage and on maintenance. For added comfort and stability, the protective earpieces are equipped with the company's patented EarLock® retention rings that lock the plugs in place and prevent movement. Another great feature of the EP4 earplugs is their slick design, which enables users with the ability to wear a helmet, a mask or even a headset comfortably. Finally, these SureFire earpieces are compatible with radio communication systems**, when the noise-reducing filter is removed. Please note that once the filters are removed, the EP4 can no longer be used as a noise-reducing device.
The SureFire EP4 Sonic Defenders® Plus earplugs are available in three difference size options. Each unit has an identical flanged ear canal stem designed to fit within the user's ear canal. The sizes--small, medium, and large--refer only to the outer earpieces that fit in the ear's concha bowl and help hold the EP4 in place. Proper EP4 size is based on the dimensions of your ear's concha bowl.
