The SureFire HellFighter 4 is a heavy duty searchlight/weaponlight that features improvements from the original HellFighter. The most significant improvement is an integral rechargeable backup battery that provides 30 extra minutes of power at full output using no external power source. This also makes the HF4 convenient and more compact when used as a hand held spotlight/searchlight. This gives you three different power source options including vehicle electrical outlets, military batteries and the integral rechargeable backup battery. The HellFighter 4 uses a rugged high intensity discharge (HID) lamp making it virtually immune to vibration, recoil or impact because it has no filament to break or burn out. The carry handle is no longer a separate piece of this weaponlight and instead the rail mount serves as the handle which adds to the overall compactness and convenience.

Another improvement that SureFire made is dual-output and strobe capability. When the HellFighter 4 is attached to the UH-01E power cable, you are able to select between high output (3,000 lumens), low output (1,000 lumens), or strobe mode at approximately nine flashes per second (9Hz). The integral rear-located pushbutton click-on/off switch can also activate the HF4, serving as a backup switch if the cable switch assembly was damaged or failed. The HF4 is built to withstand intense recoil and combat conditions. It contains a weatherproof sealed body constructed from high-strength aerospace aluminum finished in Mil-Spec Type III hard anodizing. The HF4 is protected by a 5mm multi-coated tempered window and the window itself is protected from dust, mud and heavy particle impact thanks to the new dual swing-open filter/cover system.

The HF4 produces a better beam reach since being modified and enables target illumination out of hundreds of yards. It also provides a wider cone of peripheral light for situational awareness and enhanced patrol or search efficacy. Another great modification is that all HellFighter power cables now feature a high strength polymer sheathing that makes them thinner, lighter, more flexible and more durable. The HellFighter 4 can be attached to the following weapons: M2HB .50 caliber machine gun, with or without ballistic shield, M134 or similar Minigun, M240 variant machine guns, M249 machine gun, Mk19 grenade launcher, AAV7A1 "AmTrack" light mounting stud.
