"So far it has been a great headlamp. It is a flood and dose not shine a long long distance, but you would not want a head lamp to shine far distance. I have the 500 lumens model and I used it a lot and love it as well, but the new one is 1000 lumens and it is bright."
"The Surefire Maximus headlamp is the best, brightest, most well-designed headlamp with the most compact design which does not require a bulky, tethered accessory battery pack. The headband is comfortable and adjustable, and the lamp has a wide degree of variable tilt to place the light exactly where you need it. The control knob has a 'click' feel to let you know when the unit is off, and has a continuous scale of brightness throughout its range. The unit is rechargeable and comes with the necessary charging cable. Its a lot of money for a headlamp, but I have not been disappointed! In fact, I own two of these 1000-lumen units, and will purchase again in the future."
