Description
The LightStar series from TerraLUX is a diverse and exciting line of torches that offers everything you want from a light that you'll use every day, but with build standards and outputs that you might not expect from an AA powered light. You might not have thought that your next work light would be AA powered, but you'll want to give the LightStar 180 by TerraLUX some serious consideration. The LightStar 180 is the original Tactical light from TerraLUX. The build, case material, and interface are ready for tactical applications and real abuse. The specs might not be as high as the more recently LightStar lights or brand new, cutting edge tactical flashlights, but at this price you'd be hard pressed to find an AA light with such power and durability. You're getting a light powered by two convenient, easily purchasable AA batteries, that still pumps out 180 lumens of light and 1.5 hours of continuous use.See the Full Line of LightStar LED Flashlights
Click Here to Learn More About Our BEST AA Powered LightsYou have to admire the LightStar series from TerraLUX as so much focus (pun intended) is put into the importance of different beam patterns. While the LightStar 300 offers the wides beam, and the LightStar 220 offers a slightly more concentrated beam with a super bright "Hot Spot", while the LightStar 180 offers the most concentrated beam in the series. Concentrated beams offer the most throw and are ideal for working on one specific area at a time. You get the option to choose the beam that best suites your needs. The LightStar 180 is an all around, well balanced light that offers everything you need in brightness and durability at an incredible economic price. This light screams value. Utilizing a super simple, tail switch interface, the LightStar180 is fully operational with one hand which is exactly what you want on the job or in a high pressure defense situation. Simply press the tail-switch for On/Off activation and half press for momentary activation. Momentary activation is essential for tactical applications - activation is completely silent, quicker than any other method, and light is there for exactly as long as you need it, no more, no less.

Rugged, Built To Go The Distance

The LightStar 180's casing is made from aircraft grade aluminum and O-ring sealed making it water/weather resistant. Don't worry about dropping your light, keeping it away from water, or the elements - this light is designed from the ground up to work. It's rare to find a AA powered light held up to such high standards, but TerraLUX is just the manufacturer to go above and beyond expectations. This package includes a detachable pocket clip, nylon holster, comfortable lanyard, and two AA batteries. The LightStar 180 is a versatile light with the perfect price tag. Take it on patrol, to the construction sight, to the shop, or leave it around the house for the whole family to use. Features and Specifications

Great Light for the price

"I have a fenix P2D, and bought this for my wife. Both are rated at 180 lumens, and this light is almost as bright as the fenix. Impressive performance for the price diffence (fenix is 2. 5 to 3x more). There are minor quality differances however. . . I noticed the beam is smoother in the fenix, and there are some minor dark rings in terralux. . . still great for the price, but the difference is noticable in both lumen output, and beam smoothness. One important note--the tailcap on/off switch has a \'touch on\' feature. . . I think it is meant for signaling. The slightest pressure will turn on the light, even without a click. This is not a problem if you keep it in the holder, but if you put it in your jacket pocket, you may unwittingly burn out your batteries."

What every Police Officer wants on their pouch

"This is a top piece of kit that is recommended to any Law Enforcement Officer who wants a powerful yet lightweight torch on their belt. I have found it highly efficient mainly due to the fact it operates on AA batteries and not Lithium Cr125 batteries which are both expensive and seem to be out of power just when you need it. . A great product"

AWSOME!

"This is the brightest flashlight I have ever owned. Cheap to maintain, no expensive 123a batteries at 10 bucks a pop. Just AA batteries and a everlasting LED. Truly a product to bring to the market. I depend on it to seek out \'bad guys\' as I am a Police Officer. I will be buying them for all the guys on my shift! Truly a Grade A+ product!"

Great light for price

"Great little light for the money, I bought two and couldn't be happier. They look and feel well built and are bright enough for my purpose, which is riding on my plate carrier. I like the fact they take AA battery's, which are very common and always available. A great, no frills tactical light."

Awesome light!

"I purchased this little torch almost 3 years ago. I saw BJ\'s add for a discount down to$ 27. 99 and thought who would spend that much for a little flashlight? Man, this baby hooked me on both TERRALUX and BJ (Battery Junction)! Very bright and solid as a brick telephone booth. Mine is now 3 years old and STILL looks like it just came off the assembly line. I have since bought 5 other Terralux flashlights from BJ and all are top notch. They don\'t come any better."

Great light, great price

"This is a great quality light. It is very bright, with a nice bright spot that casts a long beam. As an added bonus for police officers that might use this light, it fits really well in the Safariland expandable baton holder (model 35) with only a slight amount of wiggle room. The on/off button sits just above the bottom of the holder when you clip the light to holder. My only complaint is that some of the anodizing is starting to chip off already."

Very good light, great price

"This light appears to be built very ruggedly, and it\'s very bright. I compared it with my Fenix P3D, and I couldn\'t tell which one was brighter. The optics weren\'t as smooth and flawless as the Fenix, but still pretty good, especially for the price. There is a nice hot spot with good throw, and plenty of useful spill light. I found the operation refreshingly simple: One mode- click on, click off, and you can partially depress the button for momentary use. The only major flaw I can find is that it lacks a lockout function, so it could potentially turn itself on if stored loosely such as in a glove compartment or bag or something. The flashlight feels pretty heavy for its size, which makes it seem rugged, but for EDC use or where weight is important, you may want something lighter. Overall a great light for its price, and very good regardless."

Great light, great price

"Fantastic little light for the price and a good all-around utility light. I have direct experience with a few different brands; Streamlight, Surefire, fenix, Pelican, even the Pentagon lights before they went through a little snag in their business. The TerraLUX can hold it\'s own. While, I still prefer my fenix or Surefire C2 for work applications, this is a great all-around light with more than enough brightness for utility work, camping, hiking, or making your way through the basement when a fuse blows in the basement. I keep one clipped to my sun visor in my truck for roadside emergencies. Highly recommended and the price point is fantastic."
