You have to admire the LightStar series from TerraLUX as so much focus (pun intended) is put into the importance of different beam patterns. While the LightStar 300 offers the wides beam, the LightStar 220 offers a slightly more concentrated beam with a super bright "Hot Spot" which can be useful in tactical situations like blinding an attacker. You get the option to choose the beam that best suits your needs. The LightStar 220 is an all around, well-balanced light that offers everything you need in brightness and durability at an incredibly economic price. This light screams value - just check the customer reviews and see how satisfied the owners of this light are. Utilizing a super simple, tail switch interface, the LightStar220 is fully operational with one hand which is exactly what you want on the job or in a high-pressure survival situation. Simply press the tail-switch for On/Off activation and half press to switch between Low and High. 260 lumens is more than enough light for most situations and 26 hours of runtime on Low mode allows the LightStar 220 to really go the distance.

Built To Last, Built to Work

The LightStar 220's casing is made from aircraft grade aluminum and is water/weather resistant. Don't worry about dropping your light, keeping it away from water, or the elements - this light is designed from the ground up to work. It's rare to find an AA powered light held up to such high standards, but TerraLUX is just the manufacturer to go above and beyond expectations. This package includes a detachable pocket clip, nylon holder, comfortable lanyard, and two AA batteries. The LightStar 220 is a versatile light with the perfect price tag. Take it on patrol, to the construction site, to the shop, or leave it around the house for the whole family to use. Features and Specifications

Exceeded expectations

"I bought this light over a year ago, and continue to be be in love with it. Before this, I never carried a light habitually, but I can\'t count the number of times it has come in handy. Drawbacks, if you call them that, include (a) the glass got a little foggy when I accidentally let it go through the washing machine, (b) it dies at inconvenient times, since the multi-hour battery life means I rarely remember to carry spares, (c) the carrying case is wearing out, since It\'s been rubbing against my keychain in my pocket for 14 months, (d) my kids all whine that their flashlights aren\'t as bright as mine and want to borrow it every time something gets lost under something."

Brian (5/5)

Sturdy, good EDC

"I think the 220 lumen number is a bit high (just comparing to other lights), but I have dropped this 4-6 feet onto concrete, tile, metal, etc. and down concrete and metal steps. Still going strong. Great EDC light for a civilian anyway. Especially a penny-pincher."

Barry (5/5)

Good light at this price!

"I\'m a Surefire fan and own several of those, I wanted to see how this would compare at 1/4 of the price. Verdict: Not bad! It\'s not 220 lumens by my eye, side-by-side comparisons put the brightness of it\'s center spot closer to Surefire\'s Backup, but with a larger, brighter surround. It\'s not the flawless beam you get with a SF but it\'s very usable. The low output is about 1/3 brighter than a SF on low setting. Build: Machined aluminum with painted gray finish is nicely done, window appears to be lexan. The tail clicky cap is a bit too easy to activate, and is not momentary like SF, the light comes on the `out click\'. Great belt clip. Run time is about 2 hours on two AA NiMH 2500 cells on high. It\'s about an inch longer than SF\'s E2DL and slighly heavier. I\'m pretty impressed with it, and at this price I\'ll be getting a couple more!"

Eric (4/5)

Great buy

"Not as nicely finished as a Surefire but at 1/5th the price who is going to argue. Throws lots of light for 2 AA batteries."

James (5/5)

An Excellent Flashlight

"I bought 6 lights for gifts. I just checked one for my persoanl use and it was amazing bright. It is very handy with compact protective case for travelling. I recommend for any one who need a reliable flashlight in an emergency."

Kithmini N. (5/5)

Great Light

"I have on and am going to order another. This is the best flashlight I have owned. I thought the batteries would be gone in minutes. Instead two AA have lasted me through backpacking and hunting seasons."

Dean (5/5)

Good for $28

"Great light for the price. There are certainly better out there, but they carry the price tag with them also. Low level is good for me; neither too bright or too low. I don\'t have a meter, but compared to other lights I have I would say the bright is pushing closer to 200 lumens rather that 225. Using AAs is certainly a plus. Beem is mostly flood, which is good for me as this light will mostly be used for viewing things at a closer range. Build quality seems pretty good, especially for the price. My only concern is being able to upgrade the LED later down the road like you can with other flashlights. As always, batteryjunction was very fast in getting it shipped out and very helpfull with questions."

Kevin (5/5)

Best and Brightest

"This is the brightest flashlight that I own, and I have a bunch of them (I\'m kind of a flashlight geek!). Considering that it only uses two AA batteries, that\'s pretty amazing. The voltage regulation circuitry is very good. I use low self discharge NiMH batteries and get full brightness despite the lower battery voltage. The pattern of the light (center spot vs surrounding light) is ideal. This is a feature that many manufacturers ignore, but TerraLUX got it right. Highly recommended!"

Steve P. (5/5)
