Good value, good performance
"I initially bought the Pro 1, but either failed to read the product description closely or the description did not mention that it did NOT have momentary on plus multiple power levels. The Pro 2 has the features I wanted -- Momentary contact on or click on, with no lesser power levels, strobe effects, SOS, etc. All I wanted was a momentary/click on flashlight for tactical use. Nice central beam with a reasonably wide secondary ring of light, no focus or zoom or anything like that. The one thing I wanted but could not find on a flashlight in this price range was an 'unprotected' tail cap switch. That is, NO ring around the button to prevent accidentally turning it on. I overcame this shortcoming by unscrewing the switch (from inside the tail cap) and removing the rubber button cover, then cutting off 80% of the 'protective' ring with a fine-blade hand saw. I then finished the surface with files and blackened the metal with Birchwood Casey 'aluminum black' (sold in larger gun shops) and finishing with paste wax. I left one section of the protective ring so I can attach a lanyard, but it's still easy to find the button and operate the light with my thumb, or using a 'cigar' hold and pressing the tail cap against the base of my thumb. I could wish for a light with similar performance that only needs one AA instead of two, making it easier to carry in my pants pocket, but again, the ones that offer that kind of size plus performance are much more expensive. I should mention that the crenilations are adequate for glass breaking or defensive purposes without presenting a danger to the user or making the light look too much like a weapon."
