You don't really feel like bringing both pieces of gear, so you bring your replacement headband and make it possible to swap out between both headlamps. BOOM! Keep your original headlamp and existing rubber grommets for a quick and easy change-over to your backup. An extra headband will be helpful as the wear and tear of frequent use inevitably takes its toll.
