Dual Voltage Battery with Digital Display
The Ultralife UB0023 lithium battery is an alternative power source for the BA-5590/U battery. This non-rechargeable battery offers almost 50% more energy than the BA-5590 lithium sulfur dioxide cell and also features a safer chemical makeup. The UB0023 provides two voltage modes to accommodate the varying needs of the military. The 15-volt option offers an outstanding, high energy density of 22.2Ah for use with higher drain electronics. The Ultralife UB0023 military battery may also be used at the higher 30 voltage option with a lower, yet still impressive 11.1Ah capacity. How does the BA-5390A/U offer two power options? Within the plastic casing are two independent battery sections that allow for connection in either series or parallel. When in series formation, the voltage of the two batteries is doubled to 30V. When connected in parallel, the voltage remains the same; however, the capacity is doubled.
The UB0023 military battery, from Ultralife, features a lithium chemistry, thus making it capable of use in a wide range of temperatures, from -30°C to 72°C. Another great feature of this power source is the built-in LED notification system. This charge indicator notifies users of the battery's power, in 20% increments, with a five-segment, LED display with push-button activation. The Complete Discharge Device (CDD) indicates when the UB0023 battery is fully discharged and requires replacement. This non-rechargeable military battery offers a ten-year shelf life, which allows for long-term storage for use when the battery eventually does drain.
