Boosting My Old LED Light

"I have an old 1K Lumen C-Cell flashlight that burns through batteries really quickly. After I installed one of these in series with the other alkaline batteries, the light does shine brighter. Note: I do not recommend anyone do this to their own older lights. It's an experiment for me."

Cody (5/5)

Q&A

What is the best position to mount a battery. Vertically or horizontally. Why is one way better than another ? Can you supply two 3.6 V battery with wire connector and wrapped side by side to generate 7.2 V
I am not aware of there being a right or wrong way to mount this battery. We do not modify batteries or make packs at Battery Junction so would not be able to wire the batteries together for you.
If these batteries are put in a device that goes to sleep when the device is not in use how long should these batteries last. And even though if it's not stored in the device long is the shelf life on these batteries
The batteries have a 10 year shelf life but there is no way for us to determine how long the batteries will last once installed in a device. There are a lot of variables which can affect the battery. Does the device use the battery to determine when it should "wake up", how much energy is used once the device is in use, the conditions of the space the device is used (hot, cold, damp) all of these things have a bearing on the life of a battery.
