Description

XTAR Moon RC2 Rechargeable Clip Light

One Clip, Unlimited Uses

XTAR's Moon is an adaptable clip-on light with 5 brightness settings and tons of uses. Indoors and out, free-standing or clipped to your clothes, it's hard to imagine a situation that the Moon can't improve. Used as a body light, it can identify your bicycle to cars, light your hiking path, illuminate your homework, or even serve as an emergency beacon if you activate the strobe mode. Standing on its own, it can be a nightlight, desk lamp, camp lantern, or pantry helper. Blast out 120 lumens to light up the night, or use one of the lower settings to preserve your night vision and battery life.

Easy to Recharge

The Moon's micro-USB power port means it can recharge wherever you are, using the cables you already own. It can run while charging, so you don't have to choose one or the other. It has a built-in 2200 mAh Li-ion battery, which is the same kind used in professional-grade law enforcement flashlights. The 18650 crams lots of power and recharge cycles into a convenient package, giving you over four hours of runtime at max brightness. And an LED in the power button indicates your battery level, so you never have to wonder how much juice you've got left.

A Reliable Companion

The Moon may have a sleek design, but don't be fooled into thinking it's delicate. Impact resistance of 1.5 meters means you can drop it from eye level and it'll be fine. And its impressive IPX-6 water resistance rating means that rain and snow can't harm it. So even if you intend to use it indoors, feel free to bring it on your next hike or camping trip, and see a different side of this versatile light.

Handy Light

"Use to walk my dog at night. Lights path with out blinding you while keeping my hands free."

Works Great for Kids!

"I bought this nifty light for my grandson's birthday, he just turned 8 years young. His family spends a lot of weekends camping, and this clip on light makes it so easy for him to help with camp setup when it starts to get dark because he can use both hands. He says it's nice to when he has to visit the latrine in the dark LOL! His mother says it's nice not having to worry about batteries because the unit can be charged before they leave home and tested, too. Overall, this was a great gift, and I like to give my grandkids gifts that keep on giving! This was a smart purchase, I highly recommend it."

My review of two Xtar Moon RC2 early Dec. 2016, had these for a week now.

"Was considering LR30 when I discovered this device at almost half the price. So I bought 2 in Blue. Experience with micro USB plugs and cables on other devices have been mixed. The cable end is excellent build with buttons on the end to latch it in place. The socket on the light is very tight and solid. To insert the plug into the socket takes a little alignment and some force to fit them together on both units. I'm very pleased with the way the connections work. The button has a very solid feel, button pressure is good. I have dropped one already on concrete floor, it just bounced around with no chips or marks. The light is very versatile. The clip is very strong and a little hard to apply one handed because of the shape of the light. It works very well with a lanyard under the clip hung around the neck. I found it will also stand, button down, on a flat surface. Mind you it has to be steady or else the light tips over. Standing it up like that makes much more useful than trying to clip it or hang it somewhere to get light where needed. The light does light when plugged in. On my USB battery, the battery shuts off when the light is charged. In the garage I have a UPS with a full time powered USB outlet. Plugged one of them in the UPS for 2 days on medium and it stayed lit and charge was full. I have a number of headlights I use nightly. Last night I clipped both these lights to the bottom of my parka, maybe 12 inches apart and never turned on the light on my head. No light reflected in my eyes, very useful for checking on the animals. The lights provides a wide area light where I needed it. I have several headlamps I probably will not use as much. Li-ion battery, should be good for several years even with regular use. Have to agree with other review, 'Unique Value'."

Excellent and Unique Value

"No other product does what the Moon RC2 does for anywhere near its retail price. The output modes are well-spaced, and the runtime at each mode is very good. The pleasantly diffuse output also appears to be well-regulated to maintain a steady amount of light at each level. The charging of the internal battery is easy and relatively fast. It is nice not to worry about replacing batteries. The clip is sturdy and has a good grip. The only improvements I'd like: 1) the light always turns on in low mode (no mode memory) and changes modes in this order - low-high-medium-moonlight- off. That is not a bad order, but it would be nice not to have to go through all of the output modes to turn the light off; and 2) there are larger capacity batteries available to the manufacturer, although they would cost more. In all, especially for its retail price, this is a unique and excellent product that I'll use as an outdoor lantern in my commute and as a hands-free light source indoors during power failures. No other product does what the RC2 does for anywhere near its price."
