"My brother is always the guy who has the cool stuff. He turned me on to this tester and I don't regret it a bit! I've had simple battery testers for the basic types of batteries, but this tester has much more capabilities of testing so many other batteries. And it gives me a better idea of just how 'used' my batteries are. For instance, my alarm system might tell me that the batteries in my door lock are low. Fine, I'll change them. But when I tested the old batteries with a basic tester, they often still looked 'pretty good'. Now I can get a better idea just how used up they are. While I want good, fresh, dependable batteries in my alarm system, I might still be able to use these 'used' batteries in a TV remote or something more lightly used and less critical. I had a whole box of 'used' batteries because I was hesitant to toss a still decent battery. Now I can test all such batteries and be more comfortable tossing batteries that test, say below 40% or whatever criteria I decide. This tester appeals to something inside me. You won't be sorry you have this product."

"I use this tester all the time. I have a lot of recharge-ables but it\'s just as good with alkalines. When I bought it, I thought it was overkill, but it turns out to be very useful. When something stops working, I just pull out the batteries and test them. I know right away whether it is a battery problem or not. Sometimes only one the of batteries is bad. Saves money in the long run, and saves time and inconvenience. This tester is big, almost the size of a large hardcover book. If you don\'t need all the battery testing types for this one, check out the mini version. I got the accessory case, as well. It\'s a little tricky to get the proper contact with the plus end, but easy to learn. To top it off, it\'s made in the USA!"

Excellent Battery Tester
"I've used many battery testers over the years from a Radio Shack tester in the 70s to an MW model more recently. While the others were 'OK' in telling you basically Dead, Poor, Weak or Good, none of the previous testers I had used tested the battery under a load. I believe this gives a much better indication of battery condition, similar to testing your car battery under load rather than just reading its voltage. This tester is easy to use, a bit expensive, but I guess quality costs a little more."
