Are there rechargeable CR2 batteries?

Yes, but currently Battery Junction does not carry any rechargeable CR2 batteries. CR2 batteries use a lithium chemistry (not li-ion) and most are single-use non-rechargeable.

Do CR2 batteries expire?

Yes, all batteries eventually expire. CR2 batteries have a range of shelf lives between 3 and 10 years, largely dependent on the battery's chemistry and storage conditions. We list the rated shelf life on all our product listings when available so you can make an informed choice when buying spares or bulk cells. Are CR2 batteries the same as CR123A batteries?

No, CR123A batteries are physically bigger than CR2 cells and have larger capacities. Do not try to try to interchange these batteries, as it can lead to overheating or other dangerous complications.
