The Ultimate Charging Station
The Titanium Innovations MD-1600L smart battery charger offers 16 independent channels in which to charge either AA or AAA NiMH batteries. Each channel is linked to a back-lit LCD screen that notifies users of a battery's charging status. The LCD screens display individual battery icons for each channel, which are broken down into four "bars" to represent your battery's percentage charged (25/50/75/100%). This 16-bay smart battery charger is fitted with the latest in automated technology, which gives users the ability to re-power their batteries without worry. The MD-1600L will automatically stop charging and transition over to a trickle charge to prevent overheating and to maximize the lifespan of the cells. The 16-bay charger is also capable of charging a mixture of AA and AAA cells all at once, each with its own power level. Finally, the MD-1600L can detect when incompatible cell, such as the alkaline non-rechargeable chemistry, are loaded or when a battery is defective and will prevent charging from initiating.
In addition to charging batteries, this smart charger is also capable of conditioning the cells. This is a process of discharging and recharging the batteries in order to restore them to their optimal performance by eliminating any memory effect. As an added bonus, the Titanium Innovations MD-1600L doubles as a power source for your USB-compatible electronics. Along the side of the charger are two USB ports into which you can connect your iPod or other portable device. This gives you the ability to recharge your electronics at the same time that you recharge your batteries. Please note that the battery charger must be plugged in, in order to utilize the USB output. No more having to reach underneath your work-desk to unplug your media player or eReader from your computer!
