Alkaline Primary
The alkaline battery gets its name because it has an alkaline electrolyte of potassium hydroxide. They have a higher energy density and therefore a longer shelf life. Alkaline batteries are the most suitable for applications where the current being drawn off is normally low such as in devices that do not require a lot of power during their use.
Alkaline batteries are used in many household items such as flashlights, digital cameras, remotes, MP3/CD players, toys, lights, and radios, to name a few.
