"I have this charger for a few years now and this smart charger is the best charger I have ever owned for charging small batteries. It detects the type of battery you load into it and charges it very safely at a nice even, safe rate. When the battery you are charging is charged just below it's capacity, the charger will shut each battery loaded in it off so it will not overcharge them. So if you have one battery that has more charge than the other it will only charge each one just below it capacity rating individually. Hence the 'Smart' in the name. It senses the size, capacity and voltage of each battery separately so you can charge different batteries at the same time. Each port has it's own sensor in it. I have read other reviews that comment about how this charger doesn't charge their battery to it's fullest extent. There is a reason for that. You should never charge a lithium ion battery to it's fullest extent unless you are ok with them doing some serious harm to where you have this battery and charger located. . . that could mean you getting injured. Have you ever heard the stories of lithium ion batteries exploding or catching on fire? That is because they got overcharged and shorted out most times that has happened. So yes this charger will NOT charge lithium ion batteries to the extent that they will turn into little bombs. This will keep you and the surroundings you charge your batteries at a lot safer if you know what I mean. But as far as this charger being the 'bomb'. . . . . as we say sometimes . . . . . lol. . . . it does the best job I have ever seen. . . and very quickly too. . . for charging any type of battery that is recommended in the literature you see in the ad for the charger. If you have these types of batteries listed. . . don't cheap out and buy any other charger on the market. . . this is the one you need. And there is no sense in buying anything more expensive either. . . this one is just fine for the job intended for it. Nitecore chargers are my go to charger from now on, and should be yours too."

Be careful when inserting and removing batteries.
"Battery holder is spring loaded so if you're not careful when you insert and remove batteries the insulation on the tops and bottoms can tear and peel off which is not a good thing. I had one short out and do some serious arcing, smoke, and do all those bad things Li-ion batteries can do. Needless to say that battery went in the garbage can. If you're careful you won't have any problems and this is a first rate charger. I'm not sure what the more expensive units can do that this one can't, so If you charge 2 batteries at a time, I can't justify spending the extra money."
