Was looking for something that uses AA
"I like the somewhat compact size and weight so I can put it on a bump cap (a smaller safety helmet compared to the usual size you see construction workers wear) and it's a decent light output for a headlamp because you don't want it to be too bright when you're looking at stuff up close. I was searching for a headlamp that was intrinsically safe and uses a common size battery like AA so I can carry tons of spares. This does the job! I also have other flashlights that I use daily at work that use AA so it's easy for me to use just one type of battery size and just have rechargeable AAs that I can just take home and recharge in bulk and then take back to work. I had this thrown in my work bag haphazardly and the flashlight broke off the hinge. It made me sad but because the light has an uneven shape I was able to wrap it with paracord to make a makeshift headband and then tether it to my bump cap. There's a few other intrinsically safe headlamps I have been eyeballing but they don't look like they fit as flush or flat against a safety helmet but I might check them out later."
